Drew Klein, Performing Arts Director at the Contemporary Arts Center Cincinnati picked tunes for Monday, July 22 at Songs for Listening. At CAC, Drew curates & oversees all performance programming, including the interdisciplinary festival 'This Time Tomorrow' which debuted in April 2019.
Creating a prominent platform for international work in the Midwest, Drew has provided US premieres for artists like Ingri Fiksdal, Kate McIntosh & Mithkal Alzghair. Exclusive and co-commissioned performance works include Kaneza Schaal’s 'ACK &, jumatatu poe & Donte Beacham’s Let ‘im Move You: This is a Formation, Brian Harnetty’s Shawnee, Ohio, Eddy Kwon’s VIOLENCE, Jens Lekman’s Ghostwriting, and Raquel André’s forthcoming Collection of Artists.
He has served as a visiting curator and lecturer at institutions such as Fusebox Festival (Austin), Portland Institute for Contemporary Art (Portland, Oregon), DiverseWorks (Houston), University of Cincinnati, and Art Academy of Cincinnati, among others. Prior to joining the CAC, Drew worked in the New York independent film world with Cinetic Media and Sloss Eckhouse LawCo LLP.
