Steve Weiss, archivist and curator of the Southern Folklife Collection at UNC-Chapel Hill picked tunes for Wednesday, May 29 at Songs for Listening. Steve's been the producer of a series of archival recordings by Doc Watson, Tia Blake, and Dolly Parton released on Yep Roc Records. Steve's current projects include a box set of archival recordings from Lake Charles, Louisiana-based Goldband Records, an exhibit on North Carolina’s guitar masters, and a 3-year preservation grant from the Mellon Foundation targeting at-risk recordings across N.C.

"The 2nd movement of 'Tehillim' is one of my favorite pieces of music. The translation of the Psalm 34 18:13-15 really rings true:
