02-20-19 | Songs for Listening | Alicia Hall Moran
The mezzo-soprano Alicia Hall Moran picked tunes for Wednesday, February 20 at 'Songs for Listening'. Alicia makes work as a performing and composer at the intersection of opera, visual art, theater, and jazz. I first saw her performing in Bill T. Jones' most memorable Chapel/Chapter at the Gatehouse / Harlemstage. She's currently featured in Carrie Mae Weems' Past Tense & Bryce Dessner's Triptych (Eyes of One Another); she and her husband, Jason Moran, are producing and performing in Two Wings: The Music of Black Migration in America, which plays March 30 at Carnegie Hall. Here's Alicia's list, a trio of Debussy songs performed by mezzo-soprano Jan DeGaetani.
‘Chanson de Bilitis: I. La Flute de Pan' by Claude Debussy, performed by Jan DeGaetni & Gilbert Kalish
'Chanson de Bilitis: II. La Chavelure by Debussy, performed by DeGaetni & Kalish
’Chanson de Bilitis: III. Le Tombeau des Naïades' by Debussy, performed by DeGaetni & Kalish
