03-09-19 & 03-10-19 | Songs for Listening | Carlos Tortolero
Carlos Tortolero, director of Chicago Blues Festival and co-director of World Music Festival Chicago (both events managed by the City of Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events), provides a special weekend playlist for Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10 at Songs for Listening.
When I asked Carlos for three to five songs to assemble a short playlist, he suggested that it would be futile for him to reduce his selections so drastically. Instead, he offered me a list of his favorite vinyl recordings, those albums that sit in a crate near to his record player for easy access. How could I refuse such a bounty!?!
